United Filters offers a wide variety of carbon cartridges which can be used as a one step filtration treatment or as a secondary processing. UFJ['s cartridges eliminate the problems associated with loose carbon and can be used in single or multi-tubed vessels. Our filters can range from 2-3/4" OD to 5" OD with varying lengths from 4" to 40”.
Be assured, UFI can custom meet your needs with our standard product line
United Filters offers five basic carbon styles:
This porous shell carbon cartridge has been designed primarily for use in removing organics and particulate contaminates from plating, acids, alkaline and hydrocarbon solutions. The prefiltering outer shell is a strong and non-corroding polyethylene with plastisol end caps. This shell allow traps most of the oil/water contaminates before processing though the carbon media. There is 9 ounces of coconut activated carbon per 10 inch length. This provides and extended life of up to 50% over other like filters. Excellent for use in removal of chlorine, foul tastes & odors, organic chemicals and sediments. Ideally suited for waste and process water recycling.
As a special note, this shell style carbon can be substituted for clay or zeolyte.
This is an outer wind carbon cartridge which encapsulates layers of impregnated carbon cellulose paper with a very low sulfur content. This provides three filters in one -a string inner wind, surrounded by carbon paper and a final layering of string. The outer wind acts as a pre-filter, the carbon removes organic contaminants, foul tastes or odors; and the inner wind is a polishing 5 micron that collects any finer microns before passing through clear solutions to your filtration needs.
As a special note, this item can be produced in various string media and core options.
This is an outer wind carbon cartridge as listed above. This style uses granular carbon instead of the paper. The outer wind is a first account filtration before the liquid passes through a special bag holding fine granular coconut activated carbon; before reaching the 5 micron polishing inner wind. Highly recommended for removal of chlorine, foul tastes, odors & colors, in addition to purification of plating and photo processing solutions. Excellent for use in waste and process water applications.
CARBON FILTER CARTRIDGES
UNITED FILTERS carbon cartridges are a one-step carbon and filtration treatment. These cartridges eliminate the problems associated with loose carbon treatment and the need for a separate filtration system. The standard cartridges measure 2 3/4” OD with lengths varying from 4” to 40” and flow rates up to 2 1/2 gpm. These cartridges are designed to be used in either single or multi-tubed vessels.
Carbon styles include high grade highly activated granular coconut carbon, carbon impregnated paper, and wet molded carbon block. Outer wind materials include standard polypropylene, fibrillated polypropylene, and bleached cotton. Other exterior materials available include shells of porous polyethylene and a webbed material of polyolefin and synthetic fibers. Many factors influence the rate and magnitude of adsorption on activated carbon. A few of the more important factors are the chemical nature of the substance being adsorbed, the type of solution it is being adsorbed from, and the type of system in which the carbon is being used. Due to those factors and our desire to meet each of our customer’s needs, we manufacture and provide a wide range of activated carbon cartridges.
